About Claire

Claire’s lifelong passion for animals started from a very young age.

She started riding when she was seven years old and was soon competing at Pony Club events. She has evented up to Intermediate level, show jumped to Foxhunter standard, ridden at the Regional Dressage finals and passed several BHS examinations. Claire is also involved in the small family breeding project.

Claire graduated from Imperial College (at Wye), University of London with BSc (Hons) in Animal Science. She studied a 2 year Postgraduate Diploma in Animal Manipulation (PGDipAM) from McTimoney College validated by the University of Wales. Claire is also qualified in Equine Sports Massage obtained through the Equine Body Worker certification by Equinenergy. Claire is a member and acts as Secretary for the McTimoney Animal Association (Professional regulatory body). She is also a member of the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA) and International Equine Body Workers Association (IEBWA).

To further her knowledge and services, Claire is embarking on Msc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University College. This course is accrediated by National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (www.navp.co.uk).

Claire has been lucky enough to work for professional event riders Rebecca Gibbs and Georgia Bales at top international events such as Blenheim, Badminton and Burghley. Claire was inspired at these events to learn how to help the horses’ performance, recovery and maintain soundness.

Claire also helps to support the charity Animal Care in Eygpt (ACE), a small UK charity making a big difference to the lives of working animals in Luxor. Claire plans to visit ACE later this year to provide treatment to the animals at their veterinary hospital and welfare centre.
